Chiang Mai Int’l Christian Kindergarten (CICK)
Project Canceled

We have tried for several years to overcome the recent government school restrictions as well as raise the necessary funds to begin a preschool. In the end, we are going to move ahead with other plans. We have moved the office and childrens rooms into the preschool building and have renovated the office to become a new cofee shop ministry. Click Here for more information on that project.

Below was what we had planned

For many years Pastor Gampon & Mirjam Kumdee have desired to see a Christian Pre-school/Kindergarten open in ChiangMai.  It is their desire to reach out to the Thai Community through their children, instilling Christian values at a young age, reaching into Thai families & ministering to their needs.

In 2003, this vision began to be realized during a trip to the US, when Pastor Keith Stube of Lebanon Chapel Christian Fellowship Church in Washington State, caught the vision and agreed to partner with the Kumdee’s and City Gate church in building the Int’l Kindergarten.  With experience in building and overseeing a church school, Pastor Keith has been able to provide valuable logistical needs, such as a school director and teachers, and also a Bible-based curriculum for the school.

In May 2004, Pastor Gampon visited the church in Washington once more to bring the vision before the church.  The church members showed their overwhelming support of the project by sacrificially giving above and beyond what we expected.  In one day THB1.2 million (approx. $US 30,000) was generously given toward the school.  This was just THB 200,000 ($US 5,000) short of the amount needed to complete the 1st stage of building.

Ground was broken in the summer of 2004, and the first level of the 3 story school building was completed in June 2005.  Kindergarten classes will start as soon as we are able to meet new government restrictions. New regulations require further building.

This is yet another example of God’s faithfulness to City Gate Church and The Kumdees.  It is God who provides the partners and finances at just the right time in order to see His purposes fulfilled. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all who gave to this project, and for the ongoing prayer & support of Pastor Keith Strub and Lebanon Chapel Christian Fellowship as well as for the generosity of Chris Brannon and Cedar Springs Community Church.

As soon as it is ready to open we will let you know the website address. All we lack now is the necessary finances.
