Support for six village pastors City Gate and Daughter churches |
The daughter church pastors come to City Gate church bi-monthly for fellowship and training. We are encouraging the daughter churches to fully take on their support, but for the present they receive a small income from City Gate church to cover their expenses and supplement their income from farming. | Budget $(US) 2,500 per year |
Training 50 pastors in a neighbouring country

After one successful visit to give a seminar, our Pastor Gampon was asked by a group of 50 churches in a neighbouring country to provide accountability and training. Their language is very close to Thai, so Thai Christians can teach there easily. We envisage two trips per year to visit them and run training seminars. We would also like to sponsor pastors to come to training events in Chiang Rai or Chiang Mai. | Budget $(US) $5,000 per year |
New training facilities

There is an urgent need to give more training to the village pastors, potential leaders and children’s workers in the daughter churches. This would comprise selected people coming for six months of bible school or other types of training. City Gate Church regularly hosts training weeks, but the present facilities are stretched to the limit of up to 40 or so students. The vision is to add two floors to the Sunday school building, to provide bedrooms for staff and dormitories for visiting teams and students. There would also be accommodation for teenagers from the daughter churches coming to college in Chiang Mai, safe from the temptations of the big city. |

Foster home

There are many abandoned and orphaned children, resulting from family breakdown and the AIDS epidemic here. City Gate Church Foundation proposes an initial foster home for six children in Chiang Mai which provides a better family atmosphere than a large orphanage. This will be staffed by Thai Christian married house parents who are committed to the long term-care of the children. The staff will be overseen and supported by the leaders and members of City Gate Church. | Budget $4,000 (set up) and $1,000 per month |
Repayment of loan
 |
The loan for partial purchase of the church property is being repaid by regular giving of the congregation. Repayment would release this money for on-going projects. | Budget $50,000 |
